WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY DO AS A

Paper technologist

Extraordinary and multifaceted – a lucrative profession with prospects, because there are so many areas of application in which paper is used. First, you will be introduced to the processes of paper production during your apprenticeship and get to know the different professional fields of paper technologist. You will acquire good responsiveness, IT skills and manual dexterity.

LENGTH OF STUDIES:

3 years, with good performance a shortening of the training is possible

Vocational school in Altenburg (block lessons), accommodation in a boarding school
 

YOUR PROFILE:

Completed secondary school leaving certificate

You have a technical understanding of machine functions and enjoy the craft

Speed of reaction is one of your strengths

You are a computer enthusiast and do not fear challenges

You work cleanly and tidily

You feel comfortable in a team and like varied tasks
 

YOUR TASKS:

You operate and monitor the paper machine and the associated equipment

During the manufacturing process, you control the material flow from stock preparation to the finished paper roll

You will operate the individual computer-controlled control, monitoring and process systems

You will take care of the maintenance, care and cleaning routine of the paper machines and systems

You take over the troubling shooting and thus eliminate disturbances

Your tasks will include optimising and adapting settings and processes to achieve the desired quality
